Prerequisites

  • Eclipse
    • jUCMNav 2.2 requires Eclipse 3.2
    • We recommend you download the Eclipse SDK.
  • The Graphical Editing Framework
    • jUCMNav 2.2 requires GEF 3.2
    • We recommend you download the SDK or runtime.
    • This can be installed through the Eclipse update function, select the "Callisto discovery site" update site already listed.
  • The Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF and SDO)
    • jUCMNav 2.2 requires EMF/SDO 2.2.0
    • We recommend you download the SDK or runtime, but make sure you get EMF and SDO; the plugin will not work otherwise.
    • This can be installed through the Eclipse update function, select the "Callisto discovery site" update site already listed.

  • Download and install all prerequisites, then copy the jar file into your /eclipse/plugins/ directory. Restart Eclipse.
  • If you've installed jUCMNav from a latest build instead of an official release, make sure you remove the latest builds.

Help

  • End-user documentation is integrated with the Eclipse help system. Access Help > Help Contents from the Eclipse workbench, then select topic jUCMNav Online Help.

Reporting Bugs / Usability Requests

  • Send your bug reports to jucmnav-dev@softwareengineering.ca.
  • Include reproduction steps, sample .jucm files and, if applicable, copy-paste the error log messages.
  • If you're zealous enough, we'll create a BugZilla account for you smile

  • Misc bug fixes, documentation improvements.
  • User documentation now partially reflects integration of GRL and scenarios.

Enhancements / Fixes Since 2.1.0

  • Alpha version of scenario definitions and scenario traversal algorithm in UCMs.
    • Updated Strategies view to include Scenarios
    • Can create scenario groups, scenarios, variables, variable initializations, scenario start points, scenario end points, scenario pre/post conditions.
    • Can edit responsibility code in the code editor (using either Java-like notation or SDL-like syntax)
    • Can edit conditions in the code editor (using either Java-like notation or SDL-like syntax)
    • When scenarios are executed, problems appear in the Eclipse Problems view.
    • Algorithm behaviour properties can be defined in the preferences.
  • Minor bug fixes relating to GRL, Telelogic Doors DXL Export, and others
  • Packaged as an Eclipse feature with another plugin:
    • Import UCM from UCEd Use Case v1.0.2 (For UCEd v1.6.0 and Eclipse 3.2)
    • Partial support for UCEd resumes and UCEd repeat blocks. (Don't crash on load anymore)

Known Issues in 2.2

  • Scenarios
    • BUG: Avoid including a scenario if it includes a scenario you're already including.
    • Traversal algorithm is still very simple, not all semantic interpretations are in their final state.
    • Enumerations not yet supported in the UI (backend supports them)
    • Hitcount is currently algorithm dependant. Some elements are artificially inflated if we pause on them.
    • No timer variables yet (use conditions on paths)
    • We want to know your suggestions for UI improvement for common tasks.
  • Autolayout still a prototype
  • User documentation not translated yet.
  • User documentation only partially reflects integration of GRL and scenarios.
